From Thanksgiving to New Year’s: A Holiday Season Treatment Roadmap

You know that feeling in early November when you open your closet, see the sparkly dress you bought “for the holidays,” and think: okay, but am I ready for this?

You’re not alone. This is the six-week stretch where every Las Vegas calendar fills up fast, family flying in for Thanksgiving, your office party, the neighborhood cookie exchange, the Strip New Year’s Eve photos that end up as everyone’s phone wallpaper for the next twelve months. And the thing nobody tells you until it’s too late: the treatments that make you glow don’t work on your timeline. They work on their own.

Book Botox the week of your party, and you may still be waiting for the full effect. Get filler two days before your family photo, and you’re potentially explaining swelling to your in-laws instead of enjoying dinner. It’s not that the treatments don’t work, it’s that timing is the whole game.

So we built this roadmap. Consider it your cheat sheet for exactly what to book, and when, so every photo between now and January 1st actually looks like you, just rested, hydrated, and quietly confident.

The Holiday Timing Rule of Thumb

For anyone skimming (we get it, it’s the holidays):

  • Neuromodulators (Botox, Dysport, Daxxify, Xeomin, Jeuveau) → book 10-14 days before your event
  • Dermal fillers (lips, cheeks, jawline) → book 2–3 weeks before, to allow time for swelling and bruising to settle
  • Under-eye filler & deeper collagen-building treatments → book well in advance, or save for your post-holiday treatment plan
  • Laser & resurfacing (BBL, Halo, Moxi) → book 3-4 weeks before, depending on the treatment and expected downtime
  • PRF & microneedling → book several days to a couple of weeks before, depending on the treatment and expected recovery
  • Facials & light enzyme peels → lower-downtime options may be appropriate 24–72 hours before an event, depending on the treatment and your skin
  • Sculptra, Morpheus8, deeper collagen-building treatments → not a quick fix — this is your January-into-spring project, started now

If you remember nothing else from this article, remember that. Now let’s map it to the actual calendar.

Why Timing Actually Matters (The Data Behind the Rush)

This isn’t just a med spa trying to fill its books. There is evidence of increased Botox booking activity around the holidays, while different aesthetic treatments also require different amounts of time for results and recovery.

  • Neuromodulator Leadership: According to the latest procedural reports from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), neuromodulator injections remain the single most popular non-surgical cosmetic treatment, accounting for 50% of all minimally invasive procedures nationwide
  • Volume & Dermal Fillers: Soft tissue and hyaluronic acid fillers account for 30% of all minimally invasive treatments, with facial volume restoration and lip enhancement dominating patient requests
  • The GLP-1 Weight Loss Impact: A staggering 82% of board-certified plastic surgeons report receiving consultation requests specifically tied to GLP-1 weight loss medications. Rapid weight loss often creates soft tissue descent and volume loss in the cheeks and under-eyes, leading to a surge in demand for strategic facial volume restoration
  • Demographic Drivers: Adults ages 36 to 55 continue to drive overall procedure volume, accounting for nearly half of all cosmetic treatments

The “everyone gets a little something done before the holidays” feeling you have isn’t in your head. Seasonal demand peaks early, and the people who plan ahead are the ones who give their treatments enough time to settle before the big event.

The Roadmap: Week by Week

Now Through Mid-November – The Foundation Weeks

This is your highest-leverage window, because you still have time for treatments that need a buffer.

  • Neuromodulators (Botox, Dysport, Daxxify, Jeuveau, Xeomin): Kick things off now. Results develop over several days, and the timing of full results varies by product and treatment area. Starting in early-to-mid November gives you plenty of buffer before Thanksgiving and December events
  • Dermal fillers (lips, cheeks, jawline): Swelling and bruising are common after treatment and can take days to weeks to fully resolve. Get structural or lip filler done now, not the week of. (Note: sensitive areas such as under-eye/tear troughs can have more prolonged swelling and should be planned well in advance.)
  • Sculptra or collagen-building treatments: These work by stimulating your own collagen over time, not days. If you’re considering gradual improvement for the holiday season, this is the window to start
  • Weight loss glow check-in: If you’ve lost significant weight this year, this is a good moment to talk facial volume. Significant weight loss can alter facial fullness, and an individualized consultation can help determine whether treatment is appropriate

Thanksgiving Week

Facial treatments with significant downtime are best avoided immediately before an important event, but you still have options:

  • Hydrating facials & light enzyme peels: Depending on the specific treatment and your skin’s response, lower-downtime options may provide a refreshed appearance before an event.

Anything injectable at this point should be discussed with your provider first; you need to allow enough time for potential swelling or bruising to settle before family photos.

Holiday Party Season

This is peak booking season for office parties, cookie exchanges, and holiday dinners.

  • Book neuromodulators and fillers by the first week of December if you have events lined up through the end of the month. This provides additional time for results to develop and for any temporary swelling or bruising to settle
  • Laser and resurfacing treatments (BBL Hero, Halo, Moxi): If you want that lit-from-within skin texture for late December photos, this can be an appropriate planning window depending on the treatment and intensity. Recovery varies, so follow your provider’s recommended post-care timeline
  • Microneedling & PRF Facials: Schedule these with enough recovery time before an event. Redness, bruising or peeling can occur and may last for several days or longer depending on the treatment, so follow your provider’s recommended timeline

Christmas Week

Treat this week like Thanksgiving week: avoid starting treatments with significant downtime immediately before a major event. Instead:

  • Lean on hydrating facials, dermaplaning, and other provider-approved low-downtime treatments for a quick refresh before the big family gathering
  • If you booked your Botox/filler in late November or early December, this is when you get to enjoy the results with enough time having passed for temporary swelling and bruising to settle

New Year’s Eve Week

If NYE is your biggest night of the year (and in Vegas, it usually is):

  • Your injectables should generally have had plenty of time to develop and settle by now, this is the payoff week, not the booking week
  • Last-minute glow options: A hydrating facial, dermaplaning, or another provider-approved low-downtime treatment may be appropriate close to the countdown
  • Anything with meaningful downtime (lasers, deeper peels, new filler) should have already happened with sufficient recovery time built in
