CES Week in Vegas: A Treatment Menu for the Business Traveler Who Has One Free Hour

CES – the Consumer Electronics Show is one of the biggest convention events on the Las Vegas calendar, and if you’ve ever tried to get around the city during it, you know how quickly schedules fill up. Back-to-back meetings, a show floor spread across multiple venues, late dinners that are often networking opportunities, and a schedule that leaves little daylight for anything that isn’t work.

If you’re one of the many people flying in for CES, “self-care” probably isn’t high on your itinerary. It can still fit in, it just needs to work around the hour you actually have.

Just How Big Is CES, Really?

CES 2027 is scheduled for January 6-9, 2027, in Las Vegas, with events taking place at the Las Vegas Convention Center and other venues across the city. CES 2026 attracted 148,392 verified attendees and more than 4,100 exhibitors, according to the Consumer Technology Association, which owns and produces the event.

According to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, business travelers spend about one-third more in Las Vegas than leisure visitors. So if you’re in town for CES, you’re part of a significant annual business-travel audience for the city.

The Reality of Booking During CES Week

With thousands of visitors arriving for the event, popular appointment times can fill quickly. If you have a specific window between meetings, booking ahead is a better strategy than relying on a last-minute opening.

That is especially important if you want a particular provider or treatment and have very limited flexibility in your schedule.

A Treatment Menu, Organized by How Much Time You Actually Have

If you have 30 minutes:

  • Neuromodulator appointment – Botox, Letybo or Dysport can be relatively quick treatments for appropriate candidates. There is generally little activity restriction afterward, but temporary redness, swelling or bruising can occur, and results develop over the following days
  • A brief consultation – If you’re considering an injectable treatment but haven’t had it before, using your available time for a consultation can help you determine what makes sense for the rest of your trip

If you have 60 minutes:

  • Hydrating facial – A facial can be a practical option for travelers dealing with dry-feeling skin after flights and time in Las Vegas
  • BBL photofacial – BBL can address certain pigmentation and skin-tone concerns and is often associated with little downtime. Temporary redness, swelling or other skin changes can still occur, so it’s worth discussing timing with your provider before scheduling it immediately before an event
  • Injectable appointment – If you’re already an established patient and your provider determines that the treatment is appropriate, an hour may accommodate an injectable appointment. However, filler can cause swelling or bruising, so it isn’t ideal to schedule immediately before an important meeting

If you have 90+ minutes (rare during CES, but worth knowing):

  • MOXI or another laser treatment – Some laser treatments have relatively low downtime, but redness and other temporary skin changes are possible. MOXI, for example, can involve approximately a day of downtime, so it makes more sense when you have some recovery time built into your schedule
  • A more comprehensive treatment plan – If you want to combine treatments, it’s better to plan this before your trip rather than trying to fit several procedures into one free hour

What to Book Before You Fly In vs. Same-Day

Book before you arrive: Injectable treatments, laser treatments and anything requiring a specific provider or appointment window. This is particularly important if your CES schedule is packed

May be easier to book same-day, availability permitting: Certain facials and other lower-downtime treatments. However, always confirm the expected recovery and whether the treatment is appropriate before an important meeting or event

What Other “Convention Week” Content Gets Wrong

Most CES and Las Vegas convention content focuses on the show itself, hotels, restaurants or business logistics. Less attention is given to the practical question of what you can realistically fit into a short break between meetings.

The answer isn’t necessarily the treatment that takes the least time. It’s the treatment whose appointment and potential recovery fit comfortably around everything else on your schedule.

FAQ

Is it actually possible to get a med spa appointment during CES week?

Yes, but availability depends on the provider and appointment time. If you have a narrow window between meetings, booking ahead gives you a better chance of getting the time you need.

What treatments are suitable if I have client meetings afterward?

Some facials and neuromodulator treatments may be compatible with returning to normal activities, but temporary redness, swelling or bruising can occur. Filler and certain laser treatments may produce more visible temporary effects, so discuss timing with your provider.

Should I get a laser treatment during CES week if I’m flying home the next day?

It depends on the treatment. Lower-downtime options may be possible, while treatments involving more noticeable recovery are better scheduled when you have additional time. Ask your provider about the expected downtime before booking.
